Lakeview Academy Lions (non-region)
Coach: Matthew Gruhn
Last week: Did not play
Hebron Lions (non-region)
Coach: Sal Battaglia
Last week: Lost to George Walton 45-13
After facing teams with a combined 12-3 record during a brutal opening stretch of their schedule, the Lions return home to face a team a little bit more like themselves in Lakeview Academy.
The visiting Lions have managed just 10 points in their first three games, which Hebron's Battaglia hopes will give a defense that has given up an average of 31.5 points per game a little confidence.
"They're in the same situation as we are in terms of youth and numbers," Sal Battaglia said of Lakeview. "I think we've learned how to compete. Now we have to learn how to win. If we can do that, I think we have a chance for a good second half of the season. Once you get that taste, you're not going to want anything else."
Doing so may depend on a strong effort from the aforementioned Hebron defense, which has seen improved play from several youngsters like sophomore linebacker Jay Wallo lately, to stop a Lakeview offense which does have some weapons, such as Matt Askounis, who scored the Lions' only touchdown in a loss to Prince Avenue two weeks ago.
And Hebron should also have the advantage of being near full strength after suffering a few injuries early in last week's loss to George Walton Academy.
Last meeting: Hebron won 28-19 last year
