An overturned tractor trailer shut down the southbound lanes of Interstate 85 in Gwinnett County for more than seven hours.
The accident happened early Sunday when a tractor trailer jackknifed and rolled into a guardrail south of Highway 211 near the Barrow County line in the Braselton area.
Fire officials were called to the scene to deal with a 55-gallon drum of flammable material and later determined that it was intact with no active spill or leak.
All southbound lanes of the interstate were closed from about 4:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m, according to officials with the Department of Transportation.
During the closure, traffic was being diverted to Highway 211.
