BUFORD — Gwinnett police said a 39-year-old Buford woman died early Friday while trying to cross Interstate 85 on foot.
Jade Christensen was attempting to cross the interstate just south of Buford Drive about 12:45 a.m. She’d made it across the northbound lanes but was then struck by a southbound 2004 GMC Envoy driven by a 64-year-old Donnahue man, said Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. Edwin Ritter. Christensen died at the scene, Ritter said. Investigators believe Christensen was under the influence of alcohol and was at fault, Ritter said. No charges have been filed in the ongoing investigation.More like this story
