New Georgia Gwinnett College athletic director Darin Wilson has been named the NAIA/Athletic Directors Association AD of the Year for the 2010-11 school year.
The award honors Wilson for his work at his alma mater, Union College (Ky.), where he worked from 2003 to 2011. He led a Union program that won 47 conference titles during his tenure and also oversaw the addition of eight new athletic programs.
"We are very proud of Darin for this achievement, which reminds us of the very reasons we felt that he was the right person to answer the challenge of building Georgia Gwinnett College's intercollegiate athletics program," GGC president Daniel J. Kaufman said. "We are confident that he will continue his winning record at GGC."
