BUFORD -- State-level advocates of emergency medical services honored Sen. Rene Unterman (R-Buford) during a Wednesday ceremony at a firehouse near the Mall of Georgia for her efforts in support of EMS this year.
The Georgia Association of Emergency Medical Services presented Unterman with the 2011 Star of Life Legislative Award for her work on behalf of EMS during the 2011 legislative session.
Unterman serves as chair for the Senate Health and Human Services Committee.
GAEMS is a state-wide organization consisting of EMTs, paramedics, EMS administrators, educators, medical directors and others who are passionate about delivering quality emergency services.
