GAB: J.D. Power recognizes Jackson EMC

LAWRENCEVILLE -- In a study released by J.D. Power and Associates, Jackson Electric Membership Corporation (EMC) ranked highest in customer satisfaction among midsize utilities in the South.

It marked the fourth year that Jackson EMC had been included in the study, the second consecutive award and the third time the cooperative has received the honor.

"Jackson EMC is extremely pleased to receive this honor again," said Randall Pugh, the cooperative's president/CEO.

"This award recognizes every aspect of our organization, from system reliability to community involvement.

"Our employees have an incredibly strong commitment to and pride in the service they provide our members, and this award demonstrates that commitment. I am so very proud to work with people like these folks, who demonstrate their dedication each and every day."

The study ranked both large and midsize utilities in the East, Midwest, South and West. The Georgia Force announced last week that the team will be coordinating with local high school sports teams to launch Force In The Community, a community service initiative.

"Our fans would love nothing more than to see an ArenaBowl title," said Force president Cory Howerton, "but on-field accomplishments pale in comparison to the chance to make Gwinnett County a better place."

Known as High School Heroes, sports teams in Gwinnett County will be challenged to take part in one or more volunteer projects while logging the number of hours participated.

The team that logs the most hours will win a behind-the-scenes experience at a 2012 Force game, including complimentary tickets, pre-game field passes and halftime recognition.

Any teams logging 50 volunteer hours will also receive complimentary tickets as well as being recognized on the field at halftime.

"Almost all of these teams already do some kind of work in the community," said Howerton, "so even though helping out is something that comes naturally, this program can make a big difference with even a couple extra hours per team."

Forms can be downloaded at www.georgiaforce.com, and the deadline to submit is March 30.
