LILBURN -- A Lilburn man is facing felony charges after police say he violently beat his 59-year-old father with a wooden doll.
Henry Nolberto Guerra, 39, has been charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery in the attack, which left his father's ankle broken and blood sprayed all over his Stafford Drive home. He is being held at Gwinnett County jail without bond.
According to police reports, the incident began just after midnight Thursday, when Guerra's mother asked him to turn his music down. When his father intervened, the two allegedly got into a "heated" argument.
"When (the father) attempted to walk into his bedroom, Henry grabbed (him) and dragged him into one of the upstairs bedrooms and began attacking him," the police report said.
Sometime during the altercation, police said Guerra grabbed a wooden doll and began beating his father in the face and head before "kicking and stomping" him. A responding officer noted blood spatter "on the bed, floor, dresser, walls, door and door jam," as well as a blood trail on the stairs, where the victim had crawled down to the kitchen.
Guerra, who left the scene, was later arrested at a separate location.
