PREP ROUNDUP: White throws one-hitter in North Gwinnett win

DULUTH -- Morgan White struck out nine and allowed one hit over seven complete innings, leading North Gwinnett to a 1-0 win over Duluth.

Alaina Hall scored the game's only run in the first inning for the Bulldogs, singling and stealing second to set up Lacey Najafi's RBI single. Tori Price, Amanda Shimmin and Miranda Strother each had one hit for North (11-6).

SOFTBALL

Brookwood 8, Loganville 0

SNELLVILLE -- Rachel Hill hit a two-run home run and allowed just two hits over six innings, leading Brookwood to an 8-0 win over Loganville.

Brandi Jones went 3-for-3 with three runs scored, Ambree Muller was 2-for-2 with a steal and a run scored, Emily Brantley had three RBIs and Daniella Ulloa was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Peachtree Ridge 9, Mountain View 2

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Kayla Jones, Ashley Sawdey, Brandi Mason and Sam Pierannunzi each went 2-for-3 as Peachtree Ridge beat Mountain View 9-2.

Sarah Walker earned her seventh win of the season for the Lions (13-6, 5-2 Region 7-AAAAA).

Buford takes down St. Pius, Dunwoody

BUFORD -- Host-team Buford rolled through a pair of opponents in its own invitation tournament, riding home runs from Lexi Overstreet and Jordan Deep.

The Wolves beat St. Pius 6-3 in their first game, with Overstreet and Deep each hitting two-run home runs. Kallie Case was 3-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and two steals and Tessa Daniels (4-1) picked up the win, allowing three runs off seven hits and three strikeouts while going 1-for-3 with a double at the plate.

In the second game Overstreet and Deep each connected on solo home runs combining to knock in three of the Wolves' four runs in a 4-2 win over Dunwoody. Deep ended the game 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Overstreet was 2-for-3 with one RBI. Madyson Wynegar went 1-for-3 with an RBI and Rachel Stopper (1-1) picked up the win, pitching 5 innings, giving up six hits and striking out two. Daniels earned the save for Buford (8-6).

Wesleyan 10, King's Ridge 2

NORCROSS -- Landyn Duley went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and a pair of RBIs as Wesleyan pulled away from King's Ridge 10-2 in six innings.

Holli Wilkins went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and Emily Farrow was 1-for-4 with three RBIs. Amanda DeLaPerriere picked up her fourth win on the mound for the Wolves (5-4, 2-0).

VOLLEYBALL

Buford splits with Grayson, North Gwinnett

BUFORD -- Bailey Hicks dished out 22 assists and added seven digs as Buford split matches with Grayson and North Gwinnett.

Maggie Roper had 11 kills, 18 digs and five assists for the Wolves (7-6) and Jessica Falletta had six kills and five assists.
