HOSCHTON -- Greater Atlanta Christian took two matches as the Lions defeated Mill Creek 25-20, 25-19 and Norcross 25-12, 25-11.
Dede Bohannon had 12 kills and 14 digs while Morgan McKnight and Janaya Simmons each had eight kills. Catherine Chason finished 14 digs and Rachel Waldrop had 40 assists as GAC improved to 14-3 overall.
Mill Creek picked up a 25-8, 25-22 win over Norcross after falling to GAC. Kim Brody had 14 kills and eight digs and Ashley Isaac had 10 kills and 10 digs for the Hawks (15-7) in the two matches. Jordan Rooks added 15 digs and Kaitlyn Lattimer had 34 assists while Brittany Moore had seven digs, Emily Wylie seven kills and Audrey Hoffman six kills for the Hawks.
Dacula wins two
DACULA -- Dacula swept a pair of wins as the Falcons rolled past Archer 25-9, 25-22 and Berkmar 25-11, 25-13 to even their record at 8-8. Kimberly MacIntyre led the way with 15 kills and 17 digs and Anna Machovec had 12 digs, nine kills and seven aces. Avery Shead added 24 assists.
Brookwood wins two, Parkview splits
LILBURN -- Brookwood picked up a pair of wins as the Broncos defeated Mountain View 25-9, 25-14 and Parkview 25-20, 25-12. Brookwood (19-4) was led by Erin Shelton's 20 kills and six aces while Maggie Collins had 10 kills and five blocks. Bethany Easom had 46 assists for the Broncos.
Parkview did edge Mountain View 23-25, 25-20, 25-21. Daron Blankenship had 46 digs and Rachel White had 12 kills while Victoria Petrassi had 24 assists and Rylie Weier had seven kills and 16 digs for the Panthers.
Duluth wins pair, Grayson splits
LAWRENCEVILLE -- Duluth won two matches as the Wildcats defeated Grayson 22-25, 25-17, 25-18 and Central Gwinnett 25-19, 25-10. Meanwhile, Grayson rolled past Central Gwinnett 25-17, 25-16.
Stephanie Dixon had 10 kills and Jasmine Gilmore had eight aces for Duluth (9-5). Abby Powell added 10 digs. Hannah Johnson led Grayson (7-7) with four kills and three aces against Central while Erica Brown had seven kills against Duluth.
North Gwinnett wins one, loses one
ROSWELL -- North Gwinnett knocked off Woodstock 21-25, 25-20, 25-14 but fell to Roswell as the Hornets knocked off the Bulldogs 25-21, 16-25, 25-16. Miller Howard had 22 kills and Matia Hughes had 30 digs for North (20-3). Alex Panks had 56 assists in the two matches.
Wesleyan sweeps two
ALPHARETTA -- Wesleyan took a pair of matches as the Wolves defeated King's Ridge 25-16, 25-16 and Holy Innocents' 25-18, 18-25, 25-19.
Wesleyan was led by Anna Davis, who had 19 kills, and Katie Van Laeke's nine kills. Jennifer Miller added 34 digs and Natalie Connor had 25 digs for Wesleyan as the Wolves moved to 11-6 on the season. Callie Bivings had 49 assists and 19 digs while Alana Broe added 11 kills.
Providence knocks off Paideia
ATLANTA -- Providence swept past Paideia 25-14, 25-13 as the Stars upped their season record to 16-12. Maddie Jones had eight kills and seven digs while Emily Walls had three digs, three aces and two kills. Kaitlin Harper had three kills and two-and-a-half blocks and D'Anna Kester had 11 assists and three aces.
Archer 5, Parkview 2
LILBURN -- Archer rallied for four runs in the top of the sixth and added an insurance run in the top of the seventh to defeat Parkview 5-2 in Region 8-AAAAA.
Nani Cabrales (5-3) went the distance in the circle while allowing two earned runs on seven hits and striking out eight en route to the win. She also went 1-for-4 at the plate, including a home run in the seventh. Addy Lyall was 3-for-4 with a run scored while Katie Etheridge went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Taylor Albritton was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Grayson 9, Shiloh 8
SNELLVILLE -- Grayson came from behind with four runs in the top of the seventh to take down Shiloh 9-8 in Region 8-AAAAA action.
Grayson (10-8, 2-2) got consecutive RBI hits from Alex Sexton, Rachel Seasholtz and Stephanie Snyder to rally for the win. Sexton finished the game 3-for-3 with an RBI while Seasholtz was 1-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs. Snyder was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Breanna Ethridge picked up the win by going five innings with three strikeouts. Niki Cook was 3-for-4 with a run scored for the Rams.
Mill Creek 16, Mountain View 4
LAWRENCEVILLE -- Tori Mitchell improved to a perfect 6-0 in the circle as Mill Creek rolled to a 16-4 win in five innings over Mountain View. Mitchell allowed three earned runs on five hits and struck out five to pick up the win as Mill Creek upped its record to 10-1-1 overall and 6-0 in Region 7-AAAAA.
Breanna Buckley was 3-for-4 at the plate with a run scored and three RBIs while Lauren Bennett was 1-for-2 with four runs scored. Chandler Griffin was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI and Nikki Sagermann went 2-for-3 with three runs scored, three RBIs and a pair of homers to pace the Hawks' offensive attack.
Brookwood 19, Central Gwinnett 0
LAWRENCEVILLE -- Brookwood's Brandi Jones threw a perfect game from the circle as the Broncos shut out Central Gwinnett 19-0 in three innings.
Jones recorded eight strikouts to pick up the win and also went 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored and an RBI as Brookwood improved to 17-1 overall and 4-0 in Region 8-AAAAA. Nicole Truett went 2-for-2 at the plate with a double, run scored and an RBI. Mandy Blackwell was 4-for-4 with a double, triple and five RBIs. Megan Litumbe went 3-for-4 with a double, triple, three runs scored and three RBIs. Ambree Muller was 1-for-2 with an inside-the-park homer with three RBIs and Taylor Sexton was 1-for-1 with a run scored.
Collins Hill 27, Norcross 0
NORCROSS -- Collins Hill rolled to a 27-0 win in three innings over Norcross. The Eagles scored 18 times in the first inning and nine more in the second en route to the win.
Allie Spell was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and Danielle Koletsos was 3-for-3. Danielle Patterson was 3-for-4 with four runs scored and Aeshia Miles went 2-for-2 with four runs. Amanda Chance pitched all three innings and struck out four while not allowing a hit for Collins Hill (12-3).
Hebron 8, Social Circle 0
SOCIAL CIRCLE -- Blake Crosby went 2-for-3 and Lyndey McCurry picked up the win in the circle as Hebron Christian Academy blanked Social Circle 8-0 in five innings. With the win, the Lions improved to 13-1 overall and 6-0 in Region 8-A.
Killian Hill 6, Covenant Christian 2
CUMMING -- Tyler Wesley and Nick Turner each had two goals and one assist to lead Killian Hill Christian to a 6-2 win over Covenant Christian. David Burrow and Ryan Jones also added a goal each for the Cougars, who remained undefeated as the Cougars improved to 5-0 overall in Georgia Christian Athletic Association play and 3-0 in the region. Luke Owens had three saves in goal for Killian Hill.
