SUWANEE -- The city of Suwanee's 2010 annual report was recently recognized by the Government Financial Officers Association.

The GFOA's program recognized annual financial reports that are readily accessible and easily understandable, and gave Suwanee's most recent report a Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award. The report was evaluated for its creativity, presentation, understandability and reader appeal.

Suwanee has been recognized by GFOA for its budget documents and comprehensive annual financial reports "for years," city spokeswoman Lynne DeWilde said, but last year was the first time it was awarded for a popular annual financial report.
