Although they'd been on the scene for a while, childhood friends Matt Damon and Ben Affleck didn't become household names until "Good Will Hunting" in 1997. Delivering writing Oscars to both of them and another to Robin Williams, it also found director Gus Van Zant sticking his toe in mainstream waters and proving he was capable of more than art-house navel-gazing. The new Blu-ray captures the grit of South Boston in a way no previous DVD has and the commentary from the filmmakers is some of the best ever captured for home video.
