Ronald BART Gardin, 38, died Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the Bone Marrow Tower in the Northside Hospital in Atlanta, surrounded by his parents, following his courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He was born January 28, 1973 in Asheville, NC. He graduated in 1991 from Spanish River High School in Boca Raton, FL and received his Bachelor's Degree in Finance in 1995 graduate from Florida State University. He was employed by DJO, Inc. in Vista, CA. Bart was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents Rev. Gary and Hester Sales; paternal grandfather, Roy Gardin; maternal grandfather, Pat Wright; Uncle and Aunt, Johann and Irene Johnson and paternal grandmother, Edith Gardin. Survivors include his wife Leslie Garcia Gardin, daughter, Aubrey Garcia Gardin, son, Ronald Brett Gardin, of Hixson, TN; parents, Roger B. Gardin of Cumming, GA and Patsy Wright Gardin of Asheville, NC; brother Roger Brad and wife Michelle of Sugar Hill, GA; grandmothers, Mildred Sales Wright and Ruth Jarvis Gardin of Asheville, NC; uncle Ron Wright and wife Sue of York, SC; nephews Ryder and Jonah and niece, Everett Gardin; cousins, Patrick Wright, Frank Wright and wife Tracy; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Lin Garcia of Clearwater, FL; sister-in-law Kristi Garcia Harris; nephews Gavin and Trey and niece, Kara Harris; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; his faithful companions, Spotty, Cody, Bowden, Legolas, Janey, Horton and Gertrude; his faithful "buddies" Marcus Filipek and Tony Keeler; and loyal friend Carol Court. Bart's family expresses sincere appreciation to Dr. Ji-Lian Cai, Dr. Leonardo Farol, Dr. Scott Godfrey, Dr. Paul Cheng, Dr. Lawrence Morris, Dr. Scott Solomon, staff and employees of City of Hope, San Diego Medical Center and Northside Hospital, for their care, wisdom, kindness and dedication. A memorial service will be held at Sugar Hill Church located at 5091 Nelson Brogdon Boulevard (Highway 20) in Sugar Hill, GA 30518, on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 11:00am with Rev. Chuck Allen officiating. A reception will be held following the service in the Fellowship Hall. A memorial service will be held in Asheville, NC at a later date.
