She was born in Oconee County, GA on January 11, 1923. The couple was married in Oconee County, SC in November 1939 and lived on Jackson Street, Buford, GA their entire married life. They were the proud and loving parents of Susan Marie Johnson who currently lives in Sugar Hill, GA. During their lives together, they opened their home and hearts to more than 25 foster children and a nephew, Michael Gerald Murphy of Concord, NC. "Miss Lillian" Johnson was a dedicated member of West Buford Baptist Church where she attended Sunday school for over 60 years without missing a Sunday. During many of those years, she served as a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir, and sang with a local singing group. For years, she was well known by residents of Buford as their dog groomer. Her gardens were always a scene of beauty when daylilies were in bloom as well as various flowers and plants. The Afghans she crouched also graced the homes of many joyful owners. Mourning her loss is a brother, Marshall M. Doster and his wife, Betty of Brooks, GA and a sister, Anne Jackson and her husband, Bobby of Marietta, GA. There are also many nieces and nephews including locally Jerry Smith and his family of Flowery Branch, GA and Danny Smith and his family of Buford, GA.
