NORCROSS -- A natural gas leak forced firefighters to evacuate two Norcross warehouses Friday.
A total of about 200 people were evacuated from the businesses on the 5900 block of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard after emergency crews arrived at the scene at about 11:20 a.m., Gwinnett fire department spokesman Capt. Tommy Rutledge said. The leak occurred between the two warehouses after a contractor struck a service line. The gas leak was brought under control at about 1:45 p.m., Rutledge said, and employees were permitted to return to work 15 minutes later. No major roads were affected and traffic was uninterrupted on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, Rutledge said. No injuries were reported.More like this story
