FBI seeks 'serial' bank robber

STONE MOUNTAIN -- FBI Atlanta officals asked Thursday for public assistance in identifying a serial robber who's hit four metro banks, including a Wells Fargo branch in Stone Mountain.

The hat-wearing robber is wanted in heists dating back to July 11, when he allegedly left a Wells Fargo branch at 1815 Rockbridge Road with an undisclosed amount of cash. He's struck once in every month since then in DeKalb County, including two more Wells Fargo robberies (Aug. 12 and Oct. 13) and one Suntrust branch (Sept. 15), officials said.

FBI officials describe the black man as 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing about 190 pounds, with a black mustache and possible gap teeth. He's between 30 years old and his early 40s, officials said.

Authorities ask anyone with information on the suspect's whereabouts to call FBI Atlanta at 404-679-9000 or DeKalb County police at 770-724-7890.
