LAWRENCEVILLE -- Aristeacrats and the Lawrenceville Tourism & Trade Association will host a member's tea reception at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Lawrenceville Visitor Information Center honoring and featuring John Ahlin, playwright of "Gray Area."
The play won the Virtual Theatre Project's "The Pen is a Mighty Sword' international play competition, receiving acclaimed productions in Los Angeles and New York.
Aristeacrats is a business located in historic Lawrenceville.

Neil Diamond tribute concert planned
GRAYSON -- Entertainer Conner Lorre is performing his Neil Diamond Tribute Concert at 7 p.m. Saturday at Grayson City Park.

Lawrenceville Recycling Day set for Saturday
LAWRENCEVILLE -- The city of Lawrenceville is sponsoring a recycling day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at 20 South Clayton St., in Lawrenceville (the former police station parking lot).
Participants are asked to enter from South Clayton Street. Signs will direct them to recycle stations and exits.
Items that can be recycled include documents that need to be shredded, five box limit; electronic devices like cell phones, computers and keyboards.
The city also will accept metal and old appliances.
Recycling Day is open to everyone.
The city of Lawrenceville also will accept food pantry donations for its "Can Do" campaign.

Gluten free expo planned
NORCROSS -- The fifth annual gluten free expo is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Norcross Hilton Hotel.
The event features 75 vendors to assist those who eat gluten free find new products by providing samples and selling products at discounted prices.
The event also offers cooking demonstrations and will feature speakers on the topic.

Grayson man wins $52,000 prize
GRAYSON A retired teacher has won a Georgia Lottery prize. Patrick Watkins of Grayson matched five winning numbers plus the Free Ball in Saturday's Win for Life drawing.
Watkins won $1,000 a week for a year, totaling $52,000.
The grandfather of five has worked as an educator for 48 years.
"I'm going to sit down with my wife and go over some things," said Watkins, 72.
Winning numbers from the Win for Life drawing were: 4-5-13-14-21-33 and the Free Ball was 28.
The Kroger Store 1911 Grayson Highway in Grayson, sold the winning ticket.
Watkins checked the results of the drawing on the Georgia Lottery's website the following day.
"I'm in disbelief," he said.
In addition to his five grandchildren, the lucky lottery winner has two adult sons with his wife, Rebecca.
