LAWRENCEVILLE -- A town hall meeting on workforce development has been scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Gwinnett Technical College.
The event will give attendees an opportunity to hear a panel of business and education leaders talk about workforce development among other topics.
Using a satellite feed, the Governor's Office of Workforce Development will feature leaders from many other fields as well.
"We want to maximize participation from the broadest possible audience to discuss topics including Georgia's workforce development needs, unemployment, soft skills and Georgia's growing workforce needs in industries such as infrastructure, bioscience and logistics," said Tricia Pridemore, executive director of the Governor's Office of Workforce Development."
Among those scheduled to participate are State School Superintendent John Barge, Commissioner of Labor Mark Butler, Rep. Randy Nix, Gwinnett Tech President Sharon Bartels, General Manager AGL Resources Wendell Dallas and Georgia Power workforce development manager Debra Howell.
The town hall meeting will be held in the Busbee Center, Building 700, on the Gwinnett Tech campus at 5150 Sugarloaf Parkway, Lawrenceville.
