Thirty-five cadets from North Gwinnett High School's Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps reported for duty recently at the Suwanee police station.
Keeping a mile of Buford Highway clean is part of a community project which the unit has undertaken for many years. Every semester, students pick up trash on both sides of the road from the police station all the way to McGinnis Ferry Road. Fall Festival planned in Grayson GRAYSON -- Grayson Elementary has scheduled its annual fall festival for 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The event also features a 5K race, which begins at 8 a.m. Race-day registration begins at 7:15 a.m. Other festival features include a dunking booth, cake walk, silent auction, crafts, games, face painting and food. Grayson Elementary is located at 460 Grayson Parkway. Literacy night scheduled LAWRENCEVILLE -- The inaugural literacy night at Alford Elementary is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 27 at 2625 Lawrenceville Highway.
