GAB: $3,000 college scholarship up for grabs

BUFORD -- To raise awareness for the performing arts, the Actor's Scene has teamed up with Gwinnett County and Buford City Schools.

In its inaugural performing arts scholarship program, the acting studio will award a high school student with a $3,000 scholarship to his or her university or college of choice.

Stated Actor's Scene owner Nicolle Campbell: "Scholarships in the arts are not as plentiful as athletic or academic scholarships. We wanted to honor those whose talents lie in performance."

Freshmen through seniors are eligible to compete in four categories: humorous, dramatic, scene and musical theater.

Freshmen and sophomores will compete to win a year-long scholarship to the Actor's Scene, while juniors and seniors will compete for a $3,000 scholarship.
