DULUTH -- Calling all home cooks, professional chefs and amateur food slingers: need new ideas in the kitchen or don't know where to start? Look no farther. The Taste of Home Cooking Show is traveling to the Convention Center at the Arena at Gwinnett Center with food vendors, product samples and a two-hour cooking demonstration today.
One of the magazine's top culinary experts, Michelle "Red" Roberts who is originally from Mississippi, will be present showing the crowd 10 new recipes from start to finish. She will also be dishing out helpful pointers and techniques that any everyday chef can use.
"I am Southern -- (cooking) is in my blood," Roberts said when asked about how she became passionate about food.
During the show, food isn't the only topic in the lineup. There will be discussions about craft projects and decorating ideas for any dinner occasion.
Not only will there be the interactive show, vendors will be available to talk about new products and food which are for purchase and door prizes will be up for grabs for those who enter to win.
Each attendee will leave the show with a goodie bag filled to the brim with product samples, complimentary coupons and two "Taste of Home" magazines that include many of the recipes from that night's demonstration.
This is a Holtkamp Gwinnett CAN Challenge. Bring canned goods and other nonperishable items to the Taste of Home Cooking School to enter a raffle for an iPad 2. All donations will got to fill local food banks.
Tickets are available at the door for $20. For more information, CLICK HERE or call 770-963-9205, ext. 1100.
