SNELLVILLE -- Economic Development Director Eric van Otteren, Evermore CID Executive Director Jim Brooks and city councilman-elect Dave Emanuel unveiled a scale model of Towne Center at Snellville during Monday's city council meeting. The glass-encased 3-D model will remain on display in city hall.
At the close of Monday's council meeting, both mayor pro tem Tod Warner and outgoing mayor Jerry Oberholtzer admonished incoming elected officials to continue the forward progress Snellville has enjoyed over the past year and a half. "I'm proud to be part of the vision of Towne Center," Warner said.
Newly elected officials will take their seats next month, following the Nov. 8 election.
Snellville Farmers Market earns top rank
The Snellville Farmers' Market, just in its second year, was recently awarded First Place in Georgia's "Large Farmers' Market" category. The market, still in its infancy, also ranks No. 1 east of the Mississippi River and No. 3 nationwide. Each of the Board members, including mayoral candidate Barbara Bender and city councilman Tom Witts, were presented with an "I made Snellville Proud" T-shirt, and the group was presented with a framed proclamation marking the achievement.
