Cecil Garmon, age 85, of Norcross, GA, formerly of Lilburn, GA, died of Alzheimer's on Tuesday, October 11, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Bill Head Funeral Home, Lilburn/Tucker Chapel, with Rev. Tim Plemons and Rev. Kevin Chapman officiating.
Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Tucker, GA. A native of Gwinnett County, Cecil served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and received 2 purple hearts. He was a retired plumber. Preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Mildred Hester Garmon and daughter Helen Baughcum. Survivors include his wife, Helen Brown Garmon of Norcross; children, Stella & Eugene Chapman of Copperhill, TN, Dennis & Sheila Garmon of Buford, GA, Joan Mauldin, of Lilburn, GA, Barry & Nancy Garmon, of Winder, GA, and Sammy & Cathy Garmon, of Monroe, GA; fifteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 2 - 4:00 and 5 - 8:00 PM at Bill Head Funeral Homes and Crematory Lilburn/Tucker Chapel (770) 564-2726
