Mr. Jacob "Bud" Johnson, age 86, of Buford, GA passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jarvis and Viola Johnson; brothers, Dale Johnson and Junior Johnson; wife, Ezery Mae Stewart Johnson; and son, Jerry Martin. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Buddy and Myrtle Johnson, Jefferson, GA; daughters Diane Johnson Thompson, Pendergrass, GA and Brenda Martin Long, Jefferson, GA; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; sister, Jalaine Johnson Parker, Winder, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Johnson was born January 13, 1925 in Sugar Hill, GA. He received his education at Sugar Hill School. He was a World War II Navy veteran having served on the USS George C. Clymer and a member of the Buford American Legion Post 127. He was a retired supervisor from General Motors Assembly Plant in Doraville, GA after twenty-eight years of service. He also worked with Willard and Son in Buford, GA. He was an avid racing fan and loved racing his car. He attended Old Suwanee Baptist Church in Buford, GA. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Pirkle officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA with military honors.
