NORCROSS — Fire officials don’t suspect foul play in an early Tuesday morning fire that scorched a pool house at the Wyntree subdivision off Medlock Bridge Road in Norcross.
A man walking the neighborhood called 911 about 5:30 a.m. to report flames shooting from the large, one-story structure’s roof. Crews found the fire roaring and deployed a ladder truck to the tackle the blaze, said Fire Department spokesman Capt. Thomas Rutledge.
No one was at the pool house when the Fire Department arrived, and no injuries were reported. The exact cause has not been determined, Rutledge said.
“The fire appears to have started in the area where the underground utilities connect to the building,” Rutledge said.
Rutledge called the building a total loss. A power company was called to fix a power line downed by the fire, he said.
Vacant house burns in Auburn
AUBURN -- Fire destroyed a vacant trailer Monday afternoon in the 300 block of Browns Bridge Road in Auburn, Barrow County Emergency Services Officials said.
Firefighters responded to a 911 call at 2:45 p.m. reporting that a single-wide trailer with several additions built onto it was ablaze. The trailer was fully involved when crews arrived, and firefighters used a ladder truck render it under control, said department spokesman Lt. Scott Dakin.
No one was living at the home, and an exact cause is under investigation, Dakin said.
