Child, 4, brings shocking abuse allegations

LAWRENCEVILLE -- An Alpharetta man was booked in Gwinnett this week after a 4-year-old girl came forward with allegations that he molested and urinated on her, according to investigators.

Dike Thompson, 29, was booked Monday on charges of felony rape and aggravated sodomy. He remains at the Gwinnett County Jail without bond.

The incident involves a former acquaintance of Thompson's and her daughter, who both live near Norcross, a Gwinnett police report states.

The alleged abuse came to light the afternoon of Aug. 19, when the mother was napping in bed and awoke to the child kissing her neck and rubbing against her in a sexually suggestive manner. Disturbed, the mother inquired how the child knew to act like that, and the child indicated Thompson had performed similar acts on her last year, the police report states.

The mother called police. She told responding officers she'd had suspicions about Thompson's interactions with the girl, but balked at alerting authorities when a pediatrician's exam showed no physical signs of abuse, the report states.

The mother told police Thompson had been present during the girl's baths on more than one occasion, but in her presence. The girl told her mother that when her mother left the bathroom, Thompson rubbed his genitals on her back and urinated in her face, the report states.

The mother told police in August she hadn't spoken to Thompson in more than a year, and that he was living in California and attending New York Film Academy. He's listed as a student at the academy in jail records.

Gwinnett County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Stacey Bourbonnais said Thompson was apprehended in DeKalb County and transferred to Gwinnett.
