GAB: Humane Society to host pet pictures with Santa

SNELLVILLE — Gwinnett Humane Society’s Holiday Open House and Pictures with Santa is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Dec. 10 at the Avenue Webb Gin shopping center, 1350 Scenic Highway, Snellville.

It's an opportunity for animal lovers to get their pets' photos taken with Santa, enjoy some holiday shopping and a bake sale.

For a $10 donation, owners will receive a CD with five pictures of Santa and their pet. A guest professional photographer plans to take the photos.

In addition, there will be adoption opportunities.

All proceeds from the event will go to support Gwinnett Humane Society.

Holiday dinner and dance scheduled

LAWRENCEVILLE -- The Gwinnett Council for Seniors is inviting residents to the annual holiday dinner and dance from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Friday, featuring the Junction Band.

Held at the Gwinnett Senior Center at Bethesda Park, tickets are $30 at the door.

Dinner will be served from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and dancing is from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Santa's Toy Run benefits various charities

BRASELTON -- The National Auto Sport Association-Southeast has scheduled the fourth annual Santa's Toy Run, a toy drive and road race that benefits many different charitable organizations.

The event begins at 8 a.m. Friday with an eight-hour endurance race. Saturday and Sunday's events also include a Race Car Ride Along with pro drivers in NASA-Southeast.

Sunday's race, called the Toy Run, puts 80 cars from all divisions on the track simultaneously.

Everyone who attends the races and donates a new unwrapped toy or gift card with a value of $10 or more will receive an exclusive all access three-day pass to watch.

Organizations that will benefit from the event include Speedway Children's Charities, Partnership Against Domestic Violence, Gwinnett Children Shelter, Piedmont CASA, Kid-Stuff, Rainbow Village, a Friend's House and VFW National Home for Children.

Road Atlanta is located at 5300 Winder Highway, Braselton.
