Gwinnett Daily Post
St. Pius had seven football players, including a handful of Gwinnett residents, make the All-Region 5-AAA team this week.
Defensive tackle Danny Sutherland of Lilburn and offensive guard Rocco Thomas of Lawrenceville earned all-region acclaim, as did Stone Mountain's Joseph Crochet and T.J. Holloman, both linebackers.
All of those players are part of a senior class that won a record 42 games in four years. St. Pius, coached by former Dacula coach Paul Standard, reached the Class AAA quarterfinals this season.

There is another Gwinnett resident who might not make the 3AAA all region team, but helped lead his team (Gainesville) to victory (35-21) against the #1 team in 3AAA (Sandy Creek). His name is Caleb Hayman from Braselton. He had 5 catches, 80 yards and 2 touchdowns. They will play in the semi finals on Friday against Burke County.
