ATLANTA (AP) — Authorities say a 57-year-old woman is dead and four others injured after a motorist fell asleep while driving in Douglas County.
Douglas County Coroner Randy Daniels says Ivey Parks of Douglasville died in the Wednesday afternoon wreck. He said a man was driving westbound on U.S. 78 when he fell asleep, hit a truck and then collided head-on with Parks' car.
Two adults and a child in Parks' car were injured. Their conditions are unknown. Their names were not released.
Daniels said charges are pending against the man who caused the wreck. His name has not been released by authorities.
