Coach Angie Hembree's take: "Diamond is considered by many to be the best player in the country in her age group. I consider her to be one of the best in the country at any age group. She does not rest on her sheer athleticism but works very hard to continue to improve to be a complete player. Diamond at just 16 years of age and only a junior in high school has two gold medals with the USA team where she played with girls two to three years her senior and two state championships. But for me as a coach, her demeanor and leadership on and off the court are the things I am most proud of. She makes everyone on the floor better through her work ethic and positive leadership. She shows how much her teammates matter to her. Diamond is a joy to watch and a joy to coach."

Coach Gene Durden's take: "KoKo is a tremendous post player who can dominate a game from both the block area to the high post because of her great hands and soft shooting touch. We are learning more and more about Kristina Nelson every day. We knew she was a great basketball player from having to play against her and being a matchup nightmare, but now we know what a great young lady she is and what a great personality she has. I never see her without a smile on her face."

Coach Jan Azar's take: "I knew from the first day that I saw Holli play basketball in lower school that she would be special and she certainly proved me right. She has made a name for herself at Wesleyan in so many ways. As a four-year varsity player, Holli soaked everything up as a freshman with only a little playing time and then jumped right in as our leading scorer as a sophomore. Holli will surpass the 1,000 career point and 500 career rebound mark before she graduates. All of her accomplishments are great but what is most important about Holli is that she is not defined by basketball. When Holli leaves Wesleyan she will not only be remembered as an amazing three-sport athlete, but more importantly as a leader, an amazing student, a great friend and a role model for our younger students. Holli is the complete package and is the type of person that I use as a role model for my own children."

Gary 1 year, 6 months ago
The credentials, academic and basketball, of Lexie Brown is one me of another great North Gwinnett High School student-athlete, Katie Williamson, who went on to play for North Georgia and is now a medical doctor. Good luck to you, Lexie, and the rest of the Lady Bulldogs and their male counterparts, the North Gwinnett Bulldogs!
