Man found shot, slain in empty Augusta lot

AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — Richmond County sheriff's deputies are investigating the slaying of a 36-year-old Augusta man.

Sheriff's Lt. Calvin Chew says authorities found the body of Lawrence Russell Moore in an empty lot early Sunday morning. He says Moore had been shot at least once in the torso.

The Augusta Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/uR4EMB ) that the slaying is the city's 22nd homicide of the year.
