SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — Georgia-based Diamond Crystal Brands Inc. is recalling sugar canisters that were inadvertently filled with non-dairy coffee creamer.
Company officials said Friday that the 12-ounce GFS canisters are labeled as sugar but contain creamer which has sodium caseinate, a derivative of milk that can affect people with allergies to milk products. The recall is for lot G293 B.
The recall was done after a customer complained.
Customers affected are asked to call Diamond Crystal Brands at 800-654-5115 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST.
The company is based in Savannah.
