Gwinnett Daily Post
Fans at Coolray Field next April 3 will be able to get a preview of both the Atlanta and Gwinnett versions of the 2012 Braves as spring training comes to an end.
Atlanta will play a team of its top minor leaguers, including many players who will open the season with Gwinnett.
The game, which will begin at 6:05 p.m., is a change from previous springs, when Atlanta has played two major league exhibitions at Turner Field against American League teams after finishing up in Florida.
Next spring the Braves will play their final Grapefruit League game on April 2 at ESPN's Wide World of Sports against the New York Mets and then fly to Atlanta for a final tune-up at Coolray Field the next day, which is a Tuesday.
Atlanta will open its season on April 5 with a day game in New York against the Mets. The home opener at Turner Field is April 13 against Milwaukee.
Gwinnett begins its fourth International League on April 5 at Durham. The home opener for the G-Braves is April 12 against the Bulls.
Atlanta pitchers and catchers will hold their first spring workout in Florida on Feb. 20 and the first full-squad session will be on Feb. 25. The first Grapefruit League game is at home on March 3 against Detroit.
The Braves will play 18 games at ESPN's Wide World of Sports, including night games against Washington on March 14 and Houston on March 16 and March 30. The New York Yankees will visit on March 10 and 28, while Philadelphia will come in on April 1.
Individual game tickets for spring training will go on sale in Jan. 7.
