LAWRENCEVILLE -- A week after voters 13 cities approved the package sales of beer and wine on Sunday, commissioners voted to place the item on countywide ballots.
The referendum will be a part of the March 6 presidential preference primary, according to Tuesday's vote. If approved by voters, it would allow sales from 12:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Sundays. Commissioners had not considered a November referendum because of concerns over a county schools sales tax. It was not immediately clear if the vote would allow Sunday sales in Peachtree Corners, which will become its own city in July, since residents approved incorporation last week.More like this story
