MACON (AP) — Bibb County commissioners have voted informally to begin Sunday sales of alcohol both by the package and by the drink beginning Dec. 4.
Voters approved Sunday alcohol sales last week in both Macon and unincorporated Bibb County. Bibb County's call for the vote required commissioners to formally vote on an ordinance if citizens approved the sales.
The Telegraph newspaper reports that Commissioner Lonzy Edwards, a minister who doesn't consume alcohol, made the motion to approve Sunday sales in a Committee Of The Whole meeting. The formal vote is scheduled for Tuesday evening.
