LAWRENCEVILLE -- Gwinnett police have pinpointed a suspect in a Monday shooting that left an 18-year-old Lawrenceville man dead in a front yard.
The shooting happened about 11:45 p.m. in the 500 block of Simonton Ridge Trail in Lawrenceville, off Simonton Road and southeast of the city limits.
Police arrived to find Jose De Manuel Alfaro dead from two gunshots to his chest in the front yard of a residence on that block, said Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. Edwin Ritter.
Alfaro did not live in the neighborhood where the incident took place, Ritter said.
Investigators believe Brandon Prasad, 17, was the triggerman. He should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.
Prasad has been charged with felony murder. He did not live at the incident address either, police said.
Police urge anyone with information on Prasad's whereabouts to call 911. Tipsters with other information on the case are urged to call detectives at 770-513-5000.
