Brookwood grad Amanda Weir, who trains locally at SwimAtlanta, emerged from a difficult field and won the 50-meter freestyle at this past weekend's Minneapolis Grand Prix.
Weir won the 50 free in 25.04 seconds, beating second- through fourth-place finishers Jessica Hardy, Kara Lynn Joyce and Dara Torres. The 2004 Olympian also placed third in the 100 free with a time of 54.80.
