Gun fired in robbery at Suwanee park

SUWANEE -- A gun was fired at Suwanee's George Pierce Park during a robbery that hinged on a marijuana deal this week, police said.

The late-night incident Wednesday has landed two Gwinnett teens in jail, charged with felony armed robbery, Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith said Friday.

The two Suwanee teens who were robbed told police they had come to the corner of Ridge and Westbrook drives to meet a weed dealer who'd dated one of their friends. The alleged dealer, Niko Murachev, 19, ordered them to drive to the next neighborhood and pick up a friend, Erick "Loco" Alfaro, 19.

The two buyers were then told to keep driving because a cop was following them. Soon, they were in a back portion of the Suwanee park, where Murachev allegedly pulled a handgun, ordered the victims outside and robbed them of wallets, cell phones and a GPS unit in the car.

"The suspects walked up to the victims numerous times and threatened to kill them," an officer wrote. "One of the suspects shot a round in the air and then ran off on foot."

The alleged victims drove to a friend's house, who contacted Murachev and retrieved all of the items except the wallets. The victims then called police, the report states.

Murachev, of Sugar Hill, and Alfaro, of Suwanee, remain at the Gwinnet County Jail without bond.
