NEWNAN Gov. Nathan Deal's office has announced that a North Carolina-based food service company will open a distribution center southwest of Atlanta, creating 108 jobs.
Deal said in a statement that MBM Foodservice is expected to invest $12.6 million in the new facility in Newnan. He said it will complement another MBM distribution center in LaGrange.
The governor's office said the Rocky Mount, N.C.-based company is one of the nation's largest customized food-service distributors for national and regional restaurant chains. The Newnan facility will serve as one of MBM's main food distribution centers for its customers in the Southeast.
MBM plans to lease a building in the Coweta Industrial Park in Newnan.
The company expects to begin hiring for the newly created positions during the first quarter of 2012.
