College fair scheduled for students with special needs
SUWANEE -- The Gwinnett school district has invited students and parents of students with special needs to attend an upcoming event to learn about opportunities available after high school.
The Gwinnett County Public Schools College Fair for Students with Disabilities is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Instructional Support Center, 437 Old Peachtree Road NW, Suwanee.
During the event, students and their parents and guardians can meet with college representatives from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
College admissions staff and disability representatives from four-year universities, two-year colleges and technical colleges will be there to provide students with information about how the institutions can meet their needs.
In addition, there will be information sessions from 12:20 to 3 p.m., in which participants can learn about special accommodations that schools offer, what students and parents can do to prepare for college, choosing a career path and opportunities for financial aid.
