SUWANEE -- North Gwinnett volleyball standout Alex Panks has accepted an offer from NCAA Division II powerhouse North Alabama and signed her national letter of intent during a signing ceremony Wednesday afternoon.
The senior setter, the daughter of Ken and Kris Panks, is a two-time Daily Post Super Six selection and has been named to the Daily Post's All-County team the previous two seasons -- earning second-team honors as a sophomore and first-team honors last year as a junior.
Panks was also named to the county coaches' All-County team this season and had 891 assists, 145 kills, 183 digs and 105 aces in helping the Bulldogs to a 47-9 record that included the Area 7-AAAAA championship and a second-round state tournament appearance.
