Greater Atlanta Christian's Kristy Shelton has been named the Class AA/A state coach of the year by the Georgia Volleyball Coaches Association after leading the Spartans to a state runner-up finish this season.
GAC's Dede Bohannon, Catherine Chason and Janaya Simmons were first-team, all-state selections, as were Wesleyan standouts Callie Bivings and Jennifer Miller. GAC's Rachel Waldrop in AA/A and North Gwinnett's Kristina Stinson were on the honorable mention list.
Bohannon, Chason, Simmons, Waldrop, Bivings and Wesleyan's Alana Broe also participated in the Senior All-Star Game at Blessed Trinity.
