BUFORD -- Crews repairing damaged concrete slabs will cause traffic delays on Interstate 985 this week, officials said.
Georgia Department of Transportation crews will be removing and replacing three slabs on I-985 northbound, about a mile north of the Interstate 85 split. Work is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, with the right lane closed for about a mile.
DOT district engineer Todd McDuffie said the repairs "will likely back up traffic to I-85."
"Our maintenance crew will work diligently to get the work done and get out of the road before the evening commute begins," McDuffie said.
No work is planned for I-985 southbound.
