Families interested in learning more about Gwinnett County Public Schools' online charter school can visit one of several upcoming information sessions beginning Nov. 17.

Gwinnett County Online Campus will serve high school and middle school students beginning in fall 2012. The charter school offers Gwinnett County residents a full-time learning option.

In its inaugural year, the school is serving about 160 students in grades 9 to 12. School officials plan to add the middle school level the following fall, and fourth and fifth grades in 2013.

Registration for next school year is Feb. 1-29. Current fifth- through 11th-graders are eligible to enroll. Students do not have to be currently enrolled in a Gwinnett County school but must be a county resident.

The school will accept all interested students unless there are more applicants than spaces available, in which case a random lottery will be used to determine enrollment.

Information meetings begin Nov. 17 at Parkview High's theater. All meetings will be held in each school's theater unless otherwise noted. All meetings for students and parents interested in the middle school level will be 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. High school information sessions run from 7:30 to 8:15 p.m. and will be held on the following dates: Dec. 1, Meadowcreek High; Dec. 8, Central Gwinnett High; Jan. 5, Grayson High; Jan. 12, Mill Creek High; Jan. 19, Collins Hill High; Jan. 26, North Gwinnett High Commons Area; Feb. 2, Duluth High.
