SUWANEE -- In a special called meeting Nov. 3, officials with the Gwinnett County Board of Education approved the appointment of Mary Elizabeth Davis as the district's new executive director of curriculum and instruction.
Davis also will serve the school district as a member of the Superintendent's Cabinet.
Davis had served as director of science with the district since 2007. Prior to that, she worked for the U.S. Department of Education.
In her new professional role, Davis will work in different curriculum areas like math, language arts and science to support teaching and learning.
Tricia Kennedy, the former executive director of curriculum and instruction, was recently tapped to lead the district's eCLASS initiative as the executive director of eCLASS transformation.
Digital content initiative eCLASS (Content, Learning, Assessment and Support System) is set to start officially in August 2012.
