Towns County Indians (Non-Region)
Coach: Kyle Langford
Last week: Lost to Lakeview Academy 21-0
Hebron Lions (Non-Region)
Coach: Sal Battaglia
Last week: Beat Cross Keys 35-7
After a slow start, Hebron can end the season on a major upswing with a win tonight.
The Lions have won three of their last four games, and thanks to a forfeit win over Athens Christian awarded to them last month, a .500 record is a very real possibility, and would be a major boost to a young team.
"We're real excited about the possibility of a .500 season," Hebron coach Sal Battaglia said.
While this is the only meeting between the two teams this season, they've seen plenty of each other already this season -- on film, anyway, as the Lions and the Indians have three common opponents, with both having beaten North Cobb Christian and lost to Georgia Military College and Lakeview Academy.
"I don't think there will be a lot of surprises for either team," Battaglia said. "I think they'll come out and try to run the ball. Our defense has done a great job the last few weeks, and we'll have to do it again this week."
The Lions have, indeed, been strong on the defensive side lately, having allowed opponents an average of just 12.3 points per game during their current run of three wins in four games.
And they will look to stalwarts like senior linebacker Jimmy Hawkins, who had five tackles in last week's win over Cross Keys, to continue that trend.
Last meeting: Hebron won 49-6 last year
