Georgia leading rusher Isaiah Crowell will not be in uniform for the Bulldogs on Saturday after being suspended Tuesday by the team, along with fellow RBs Carlton Thomas and Ken Malcome.
ATHENS — Three University of Georgia running backs have been suspended for Saturday's football game with New Mexico State for violation of team policies, according to UGA head coach Mark Richt.
Junior Carlton Thomas, freshman Isaiah Crowell, and redshirt freshman Ken Malcome will serve one-game suspensions on Saturday.
The Bulldogs are already without tailback Richard Samuel, who suffered a season-ending ankle injury in last week's win over Florida.
"We have certain standards in all that we do and their actions do not reflect the Georgia way," said Richt. "They will serve their suspensions, learn a lesson and I'm sure be better men for it."
The only other tailbacks listed on UGA's football roster are senior Alex Van Dyk, sophomore Alex Parsons and true freshman Kyle Karempelis, a former standout at Wesleyan.
