E-SPLOST deserves to be renewed
I am writing to encourage a renewal of the Gwinnett County Schools' Education Splost. As a Duluth homeowner, parent of young children, local attorney and someone who cares about the future of our community, the renewal of the Education Splost is essential to future success in local property values, education, and business.
The extension of the E-SPLOST will raise $875 million for our children's education -- and 40 percent of that will be paid by non-residents who shop here.
The Education Splost vote is a renewal vote, not a new tax. Voting yes honors the promises which have been made, and kept, by the Gwinnett County school system. They have delivered educations as well as facilities with the funds entrusted to them. The E-Splost renewal is critical to continuing educational excellence in Gwinnett County.
The success of our educational system has a direct link to property values and whether businesses locate here. I encourage you to make an informed vote to renew the E-SPLOST on Nov. 8.
