Mr. Fred S. Hoefer Jr., age 88, of Buford, GA passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2011. He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Betty Hoefer, Buford, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Robert Heaton, Piedmont, SC, Jane and Mike Grabusky, Sugar Hill, GA and Judy Clemmons, Jacksonville, NC; son and daughter-in-law, Fred S. Hoefer III and wife, Kim Hoefer, Alpharetta, GA; four grandchildren, Erika Howell, Lindsay Hoefer, Matthew Stone and Amanda Clemmons; two great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Toni Hoefer, Jacksonville, FL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Hoefer was born July 28, 1923 in Ithaca, NY. He was a 1942 graduate of Morristown High School in Morristown, NJ and a 1948 graduate of Cornell University where he received his Bachelor's Degree. He was a World War II Army veteran having served in the 104 Infantry Timber Wolf Division. He retired from Cornell University in 1976 and retired in 1986 as a Director of Food Services in Oconee County, SC. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Flowery Branch, GA. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Prince Of Peace Catholic Church, 6439 Spout Springs Road, Flowery Branch, GA 30542 with Father Eric Hill serving as Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Prince of Peace Catholic Church or Muscular Dystrophy Association in memory of Fred S.
