In response to Darrell Huckaby’s viewpoint (If you need a job, farmers are hiring, May 28): Maybe, just maybe, if our politicians weren’t doling out so much of our tax money in the form of welfare, food stamps and government housing to able-bodied folks who could do a little work, the farmers might be able to find some good old American help. Maybe it’s just too easy to meet the mailman once a month instead of going out and serving the community by working. Oh, I forgot, those welfare checks just might be direct deposit now, so lets not support the mailman either!
