CARY, N.C. — The last-place Silverbacks hung with the first-place RailHawks for 80 minutes Saturday, both teams failing to score for most of the game.
But like has happened to Atlanta many times this year, the opponent struck. Carolina's Pablo Campos put a diving header into the net past goalkeeper Felipe Quintero in the 81st minute. Allan Russell added an insurance goal in stoppage time, and the RailHawks secured a 2-0 win. The Atlanta defense can hold its head high for keeping forward Etienne Barbara off the scoring sheet, a feat no other team has done this season. But Barbara did get the assist on Russell's goal for Carolina (7-1-1, 19 points), helping hand Atlanta (0-6-2, 2 points) yet another defeat and leading his team to an undefeated month of May.More like this story
